President of the Republic Proposes National Security Council Meeting in the Seat of Government of the Republic of Croatia
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović proposed to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković that the National Security Council meeting be held in the seat of Government of the Republic of Croatia.
On Friday Prime Minister Plenković made it clear that he does not agree that the NSC meeting be held in the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia (Villa Weiss) because he “feels that he should” host the meeting.
Although President Milanović considers that the convening of the NSC meeting is official business, and not a transaction relation, he is pleased to accept the Prime Minister’s wish to be “a good host” and will attend the NSC meeting in the seat of Government.
Since in the seat of the Government of the Republic of Croatia a meeting of the Government’s Healthcare Council was held on Friday in a room smaller than the one in Villa Weiss, which was attended by a large number of participants, the President of the Republic is confident that the Government of the Republic of Croatia has ensured epidemiological measures to hold the NSC meeting (even though “it is irrelevant” as the Prime Minister said yesterday).
Due to the importance of the NSC and the specifics of the discussion, the President of the Republic feels that the meetings should be held only in the Office of the President of the Republic or in the seat of the Government, or eventually in the Croatian Parliament and that every other location is unacceptable.
