President of the Republic Meets with Representatives of American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received a delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia, an independent non-governmental organization that represents 250 American, Croatian and other international companies that employ some 90,000 people in Croatia.
At the meeting with President Milanović, the economic situation and business conditions during the coronavirus pandemic were discussed, as well as actions that need to be taken to raise Croatian competitiveness and increase investments. Representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce informed the President about the findings of a survey conducted in June, which shows that 47% of about one-hundred companies polled expect problems in doing business in the next six months. The need for tax relief was mentioned as well and the delegation highlighted the importance of having transparency, legal security and predictable conditions for doing business.
The delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce consisted of the following individuals: Ruža Tomić Fontana, President of the Board of Governors and General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Adria; Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce; Mihael Furjan, Secretary-Treasurer and President of the Management Board of Pliva Hrvatska; Miodrag Matijaca, member of the Board of Governors and General Manager of Teknoxgroup Hrvatska.
