The President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor will pay a State visit to the Republic of Croatia on Monday and Tuesday 28 and 29 November. President Pahor is coming to Croatia at the invitation of the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović, who will be his host during his two-day stay in our country. Besides the official talks of the two presidents and a bilateral meeting between the two delegations in the Office of the President on the first day of the visit, President Pahor will have a host of activities in Zagreb, which will confirm the close and friendly ties between Croatia and Slovenia.

On Tuesday, the second day of his stay in Croatia, Presidents Milanović and Pahor will participate in a forum entitled “Business Meets Politics – Energetika danas i sutra” (Energy Today and Tomorrow) organized by the Slovenian-Croatian Business Club and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Croatia. Since Croatia and Slovenia are closely linked economically and in energy matters, the forum will address energy supply in the context of the current European crisis and opportunities for even better future cooperation in that sector. Forum participants, prominent Croatian and Slovenian businesspeople, will try to answer the question whether two states together can be more successful, resilient and sustainable in the current energy crisis.

As to confirm the excellent cultural cooperation between the two states, Presidents Milanović and Pahor will visit the Museum of Contemporary Art where there will be a programme prepared by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia. In Zagreb, President Pahor will make a donation to the Zagreb Zoo – he will present a beehive to the City of Zagreb during a special ceremony on Tuesday. During his stay in Zagreb, President Pahor will meet with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković, and with the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković, and President Milanović will host a state dinner for his guest in the Office of the President.

President Pahor’s State visit to the Republic of Croatia will be at the same time his last foreign official visit before the end of his term. This is an indicator of the friendship and excellent relations between the two neighbouring states, and also of the excellent cooperation between Presidents Pahor and Milanović.
