President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani to attend this Year’s Sinjska Alka at the Invitation of President Milanović
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović will attend this year’s Sinjska Alka tournament together with the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who will be on a working visit to the Republic of Croatia due to her attendance at the event. The 309th edition of the Sinjska Alka tournament will be held this year in Sinj on Sunday, 4 August.
Vjosa Osmani, the President of Kosovo, will attend the Sinjska Alka tournament at the invitation of President Milanović, who is the patron of the event, as in previous years. Her visit to Sinj was agreed in advance with the leadership of the Alka Knights’ Society, which in recent years has endeavoured to internationalize the traditional chivalrous competition and promote it abroad.
As patron of the Sinjska Alka, President Milanović endorsed this effort of the Alka Knights Society and last year invited the President of Hungary Katalin Novák to the tournament. Two years ago, Borut Pahor, the President of Slovenia, was the first foreign statesman to attend the Sinjska Alka.
During their stay in Sinj, President Milanović and President Osmani will visit the exhibition “Vanja Radauš i Stipe Sikirica – dijalog učitelja i učenika” [Vanja Radauš and Stipe Sikirica – A Dialogue between Teacher and Pupil] under the expert guidance of curator Ana Žanko and Sikirica Gallery director Dragana Modrić. They will also tour the Sinjska Alka Museum under the expert guidance of director and curator Boris Filipović Grčić.
At the Sinjska Alka tournament, President Milanović will also be accompanied by his wife Sanja Musić Milanović, while President Osmani will be accompanied by her husband Prindon Sadriu.
