President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu Arriving on a Two-Day Official Visit to Croatia
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, together with her husband Prindon Sadriu, is arriving on a two-day official visit to the Republic of Croatia. At the invitation of the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović, the President of the Republic of Kosovo will be in Croatia on Tuesday and Wednesday and, apart from Zagreb, she is due to visit Karlovac and Rijeka.
The official bilateral meeting of the two Presidents will be held on Tuesday in the Office of the President of the Republic, and on the same day President Osmani Sadriu will meet with the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia. During her stay in the country, President Osmani Sadriu is also scheduled to meet with members of the Albanian community in Croatia.
President Milanović and President Osmani Sadriu will discuss bilateral relations between Croatia and Kosovo, the political and security situation in Southeast Europe, current developments in the north of Kosovo, and the European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo and other countries in Southeast Europe.
Croatia supports Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, and it supports granting Kosovo candidate status for membership in the European Union. President Milanović has on a number of occasions publicly called on EU members who have not yet recognized Kosovo’s independence to do so. In his recent speech at the United Nations in New York, President Milanović emphasized that Croatia advocates universal recognition of the Republic of Kosovo and its right to existence as an equal member of the community of nations.
