President Milanović’s Christmas Greetings to Orthodox Believers in Croatia
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović has extended Christmas greetings to Orthodox believers in Croatia. His message reads:
“To all citizens of Croatia, Orthodox believers who tomorrow celebrate the happiest Christian holiday, I wish you a Merry Christmas. As tradition dictates for celebrating Christmas, spend the upcoming holiday with your families, with your loved ones, in the joy and prosperity of your homes.
The world we live in today is full of wars, conflicts, and uncertainty. In addition to everything mentioned, I particularly express my wish for you, as well as for everyone in our Croatia, that we continue to have a peaceful and safe life. I believe that, as a community of different people, we are ready and capable of continuing to build an organised and just society that will respect mutual differences as a democratic and civilizational value.
Let us also use the upcoming holiday to prove ourselves as a tolerant society that sincerely respects and accepts not only friends and neighbours but all citizens of the Orthodox faith who consider Croatia their home. With the traditional greeting – “God’s peace, Christ is born” – I once again wish a Merry Christmas to all Orthodox believers in Croatia.”
