President Milanović Visits Croatian Air Force Pilot Major Lukan Recovering in Varaždinske Toplice
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović visited today in Varaždinske Toplice Major Ivan Lukan, Croatian Air Force pilot, injured in the recent crash of the MiG-21. Major Lukan is recovering in the Varaždinske Toplice health resort following successful surgery. President Milanović spoke with Major Lukan and wished him a speedy and full recovery.
The Croatian Air Force MiG-21 crashed near Slatina in Virovitica-Podravina County on 6 December 2022 during a routine training flight. In the MiG-21 were Lieutenant Colonel Zvonimir Milatović and Major Ivan Lukan who successfully ejected from the aircraft just prior to the crash. After being examined by physicians, Lieutenant Colonel Milatović was discharged from hospital, Major Lukan was successfully operated and is recovering in the Varaždinske Toplice health resort.
Alongside President MIlanović were the Commander of the Croatian Air Force Brigadier General Michael Križanec, Commander of the 91st Wing Nikola Mostarac and the Commander of the Squadron Lieutenant Colonel Zvonimir Milatović.
