President Milanović to Participate in International Prespa Forum Dialogue in Struga
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović will participate this year as well in the international conference Prespa Forum Dialogue on 15-16 June 2023 in Struga, Republic of North Macedonia. The host of the Prespa Forum, which is being organized for the third time, is the President of the Republic of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski.
The Prespa Forum will discuss, among other things, current regional and European political and security issues, the process of integration of Southeast European countries into the European Union, prospects for strengthening cooperation and good neighbourly relations, and the fight against corruption. President Milanović will take part in the panel discussion “Peace and Democracy versus War and Autocracy” in which the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović and the President of the Republic of Albania Bajram Begaj will participate, together with the host President Pendarovski. An address by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is also expected.
During his stay in Struga, President Milanović is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the Presidents of North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania.
This year’s Prespa Forum is of great significance for North Macedonia because the country has recently taken over the Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and through this international conference it will endeavour to promote the principles and obligations of the OSCE and stimulate dialogue and cooperation. In addition, this year marks the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Prespa Agreement between North Macedonia and Greece.
