President Milanović Receives Fifteenth Gymnasium Zagreb Students, Recipients of Medals at International Informatics Competitions
On the occasion of the beginning of the new school year and to congratulate them on their successes in informatics competitions, the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received in his Office students of Fifteenth Gymnasium Zagreb. The students won medals at the 33rd International Olympiad in Informatics, which took place from the 19th to the 25th of June 2021, and they also achieved great success at the 28th Central European Olympiad in Informatics, which took place from the 1st to the 5th of September 2021 in Zagreb.
At the International Olympiad in Informatics, young Croatian computer scientists took home two gold medals, a silver and a bronze medal. A gold medal was won by Dorijan Lendvaj and Patrick Pavić, Vito Anić took home a silver medal and Krešimir Nežmah was awarded a bronze medal. They were equally successful at the international competition of secondary school students in computer programming, held online in Zagreb, which featured 48 competitors from 11 countries. The gold medal winner and overall absolute winner of this competition was Dorijan Lendvaj. A gold medal was also awarded to Patrick Pavić, while Krešimir Nežmah won a silver medal and Vito Anić received a bronze medal.
Apart from the recipients of medals at Informatics Olympiads, also participating in the meeting with President Milanović were the student mentor of the Croatian informatics team and Director of the Fifteenth Gymnasium Zagreb professor Nikola Dmitrović and team manager Secretary of the Croatian Computer Science Association Krešimir Malnar.
Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education Jadranka Žarković was alongside President Milanović.
