The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received gymnast Tin Srbić, gold medal winner in the horizontal bar event at the European Championships held in Antalya, Türkiye last month, and congratulated him on his European gold and all his previous sports achievements. Also attending the meeting with President Milanović were his present coach Lucijan Krce, and Marijo Možnik, president of the Croatian Gymnastics Federation.

For twenty-six year old Croatian gymnast Tin Srbić, the gold medal from Antalya is his sixth medal. He has performed in seven finals, and along with the world gold medal from Montreal in 2017, Tin Srbić won the world silver medal two years later in Stuttgart, two European silver medals: in 2019 in Szczecin, Poland, and in 2020 in Mersin, Türkiye, as well as an Olympic silver medal from Tokyo in 2021. With two gold medals, seven silver medals and one bronze medal, Croatia has further climbed on the list of medals won at European championships, and currently ranks 22nd.

At the meeting they discussed the past sports successes of Croatian gymnasts, Tin Srbić’s plans regarding new competitions in gymnastics, and the situation in Croatian gymnastics and sports in general. In their opinion the interest of children and youth in gymnastics in Croatia is significantly growing thanks to multiple achievements of Croatian gymnasts in the past few years.
