President Milanović Receives Delegation of Brdovec Municipality
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today a delegation of Brdovec Municipality which included the Head of the Municipality Alen Prelec, the Head of the Municipality’s Administrative Department Daniel Bukovinski, the Head of the Municipality’s Administrative Department Maja Coner, the president of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Brdovec Damir Slavnović and a member of the County Assembly Stjepko Rukelj.
At the meeting, the delegation of Brdovec Municipality informed President Milanović of the accomplishments and future development plans of the Municipality, which on June 15 celebrated the 31st anniversary of its foundation, Municipal Day and the feast of St. Vitus, the patron saint of the Brdovec parish. About 12,000 inhabitants presently live in this Municipality, and the Mayor of the Municipality, Alen Prelec, pointed out that they strive to implement policies in the service of the citizens, as evidenced by the demographic growth due to the settlement of younger families.
Various economic entities operate successfully in the Municipality, said the representatives of Brdovec Municipality and acquainted President Milanović with ongoing investments. In this regard, they indicated projects that are financed with money from the municipal budget as well as with European funds, and they especially emphasized that the implementation of one of the most significant projects to improve the lives of the residents of Brdovec Municipality – the construction of the business and residential complex Januševec – is under way. This very “Integration Centre”, as they call it, will be the location of the new centre of the public and social life of Brdovec Municipality, adapted to the needs of residents of all generations.
Alongside President Milanović at the meeting was the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka Žarković.
