President Milanović Meets with Vice President of Vietnam Võ Thị Ánh Xuân

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović held a meeting with the Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Võ Thị Ánh Xuân, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia.

At the meeting in the Office of the President of the Republic, satisfaction was expressed with the bilateral relations between the two countries and it was emphasized that there is room for the further deepening of cooperation. Economic ties between the two countries were discussed as well, also in the context of Vietnam’s growing role in the world economy. During the conversation, views were exchanged on the current global issues, including the major security crisis in Europe caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The Vice President of Vietnam conveyed the invitation from the President of her country to President Milanović to pay an official visit to Vietnam, which was accepted.

The Vice President of Vietnam Võ Thị Ánh Xuân was accompanied at the meeting by the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Croatia Nguyén Thi Bích Tháo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Phan Thi Kim Oanh and Adviser to the Vice President Nguyen Dung Tien.

Attending the meeting alongside President Milanović were the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Ivan Velimir Starčević, Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic Bartol Šimunić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Velibor Mačkić and Secretary of the Cabinet for Foreign and European Policy Ivan Mutavdžić.
