President Milanović Meets with Members of Croatian Association of Teachers of English Celebrating 30 Years of Work
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today members of the Croatian Association of Teachers of English (HUPE) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the work of this non-profit organization. HUPE’s mission is to connect on a professional and interest basis in order to improve teaching practice and education for the benefit of all those who use the English language professionally.
The anniversary of the work and activity of the Croatian Association of Teachers of English was marked by its Annual Conference held under the auspices of the President of the Republic from 11 to 13 November 2022 in Poreč. Members of the delegation told the President that 550 teachers and language experts from Croatia and a dozen countries took part in the conference.
Their goal is to encourage further professional development of Association members and protect their status and professional interests within the education system of the Republic of Croatia. Besides enhancing the image of the teaching profession, members of the delegation underlined that by organizing annual conferences, connecting with similar associations abroad and coordinating various events, they are trying to contribute to the improvement of the profession of their members.
In the delegation of the Croatian Association of Teachers of English at the meeting with President Milanović were Association president Anita Jokić, member Sanja Paić, head of the Association’s Rijeka branch Deni Kirinčića, Mirjana Zubak Mičetić from Zagreb, Dunja Klarić from Poreč, members of the Supervisory Board Dubravka Lapčić and Tihana Svoren Kolarec, and Gordana Bujanić Tretinjak PR officer.
Alongside President Milanović was the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka Žarković.
