The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today representatives of the “Klub Sinjana Zagreb” on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its foundation. It is an association of citizens of Zagreb and Zagreb County who come or originate from the Cetinska Krajina Region.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the foundation of the “Klub Sinjana”, there are, among others, plans to publish a monograph entitled “Korijeni koji traju” depicting the people and historical events organized by the inhabitants of Sinj and the Cetinska Krajina Region in Zagreb. The origins of the Club are tied to the Student Club of the Municipality of Sinj founded in 1954 in Zagreb as an association of students from the area of Sinj and the Cetinska Krajina Region. Among the Club’s founders were members-students of sculpture of the time Stipe Sikirica and Ante Župić, and the office of president was held by Marko Veselica, Frano Poljak and Stipe Milanović. Over time the Club grew beyond the student framework and began to include people from all walks of life. Since 1991 the “Klub Sinjana” has worked as an association of citizens aimed at preserving and promoting cultural, traditional and other values of Sinj and the Cetinska Krajina Region.

Attending the meeting besides the president of the “Klub Sinjana” Jakov Žižić were the Club’s vice-president Luka Vučemilo, Management Board members Krešimir Domazet, Goran Filipović Grčić and Katarina Kokot Živalj, and Supervisory Board member Dora Prolić.

Alongside President Milanović was the Adviser to the President for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Mulić.
