President Milanović Launches Procedure for the Dismissal of the Director of the Military Security and Intelligence Agency (VSOA)
After receiving a Report from the Office of the National Security Council (UVNS) on the expert supervision of the Military Security and Intelligence Agency (VSOA) of 19 September 2022, and due to the scope and the extent of the violations stated in the Report, the view of the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović is that the director of the VSOA, as the individual in charge of the Agency’s operations, can no longer carry out this duty.
Therefore President Milanović sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković thereby launching the procedure for the dismissal of Major General Ivica Kinder from the office of Director of the VSOA.
President Milanović has launched the procedure in accordance with Article 66, Paragraph 5 of the Security and Intelligence Systems Act of the Republic of Croatia, which stipulates that “the procedure for the dismissal of the director of the Security and Intelligence Agencies may be launched by the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the Croatian Parliament”.
