President Milanović Invites Young Scientists and Artists to Pursue their Work in Croatia
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received representatives of the “Društvo sveučilišnih nastavnika I drugih znanstvenika” (Society of University Professors and other Scientists), young scientists and artists, recipients of the Society’s 2022 annual awards.
The annual awards ceremony of the “Društvo sveučilišnih nastavnika I drugih znanstvenika” was held in April; awards were presented to young scientists and artists for outstanding achievements in their scientific and artistic work in 2022.
The delegation including president Jasna Franekić, vice-president Borislav Grgin, president of the Annual Awards Committee Mladen Franz and administrative secretary Hrvoje Tadić, proudly highlighted that in the past twenty-five years 267 individuals received the award. They said that 53 candidates applied for this year’s award, and that out of all of them, the 10 best works were chosen by decision of the reviewers.
The 2022 Annual Award recipients were the following: Bojan Žunar in the field of biotechnology, Maja Tabak Demo in the field of human sciences, Barbara Šlibar in ICT, Lucija Hok, Igor Karlović, Mia Radović and Ana Najev in the field of natural sciences, Ivan Jajić in the field of social sciences, Viktor Čižić for the “Crno-bijeli dijalozi” concert in the field of music art, and Ivan Karlo Cingesar in the field of technical sciences.
Scientists under the age of 35 who are employed at the University of Zagreb or in institutes can apply for the annual awards. During the meeting, scientists and artists winners of the award presented their work to the President, who congratulated them on their success and invited them to pursue their scientific and artistic work in Croatia.
Alongside President Milanović was the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka Žarković.
