President Milanović in Vrbovec at Opening of ”Kaj su jeli naši stari“ Culinary Event
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended this evening the opening of the tourist and culinary event “Kaj su jeli naši stari” (What our ancestors ate), being held for the 42nd time during the last weekend in August.
In his address at the opening ceremony, President Milanović, who is patron of the event, stated that it is a festival of people of goodwill. “When I was here four years ago I recall it was a hot day too. I was impressed not only by the quality of the food offered but by the goodwill and love of the women preparing it for the sake of tradition and enjoying what they do”, President Milanović noted telling residents of Vrbovec to continuing doing so.
Greeting the residents of Vrbovec and their guests in addition to President Milanović were the Mayor of Vrbovec Denis Kralj and the Deputy County Prefect of Zagreb County Damir Tomljenović. Accompanying President Milanović at the event was the Adviser to the President for the Economy Velibor Mačkić.
After the opening ceremony, President Milanović and his hosts toured the exhibition stalls showcasing a rich and diverse offering of local food and presenting local culture and tourism.
