“I offer my condolences to the families and relatives of fellow citizens killed today at a home for the elderly and infirm in Daruvar. I wish a speedy and safe recovery to all the wounded, and I thank the employees of the emergency medical service for their quick and organized response in rescuing the injured.
The savage, unprecedented crime in Daruvar has shocked me. It serves as a frightening warning and a final call to all relevant institutions to enhance efforts in preventing violence in society, including implementing even stricter controls on gun ownership. I expect the police and the state attorney’s office to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to determine all the circumstances of this crime and hold those responsible accountable.”
