President Milanović Hosts Adriatic Aerospace Association Members

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović met today with members of the Adriatic Aerospace Association, a non-governmental, non-profit, and independent organization that promotes research and development of technologies, products, and services in the aerospace sector.

Representatives of the Adriatic Aerospace Association – including President Slobodan Danko Bosanac, Secretary General Danko Kočiš, Association members Damir Preksavec and Anamarija Pejić, and the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Zagreb, Ante Jukić – informed President Milanović about their activities and shared the progress they have made in advancing space science and technology in Croatia in recent years.

The founders and members of the Association include individuals and legal entities from the scientific and technological sectors, but the Association also aims to involve institutions and companies from the fields of science and development in its activities. There are already companies in Croatia producing components for space programmes, and our goal is to further transfer our knowledge to the Croatian industry, as keeping pace with the development of these technologies is crucial today, it was stated at the meeting. They highlighted the importance of international cooperation, which requires the support of state institutions, but noted that they currently do not receive adequate government backing for their activities.

Furthermore, they emphasized that information collected and transmitted via space satellites is becoming critical in nearly all aspects of technological, economic, and scientific development. It is also increasingly recognized as vital in areas such as crisis management, defense, and national security. Members of the Adriatic Aerospace Association believe that this initiative will undoubtedly play a significant role in Croatia’s development in the near future.

They thanked President Milanović for his patronage of the conference held in August, organized by the Adriatic Aerospace Association in collaboration with the Ruđer Bošković Institute and FabLab Sarajevo. President Milanović was accompanied by Dragan Lozančić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for National Security, and Jadranka Žarković, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education.
