President Milanović Discusses Readiness, Needs of the Largest Branch of the Croatian Armed Forces with Croatian Army Commanders
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović met today at the “Stožerni General Petar Stipetić” Barracks in Karlovac, the headquarters of the Croatian Army, with the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Admiral Robert Hranj, Commander of the Croatian Army Major General Tihomir Kundid and the commanders of the units of the Croatian Army.
The Commander of the Croatian Army Major General Kundid informed President Milanović about the state of readiness and the current and future tasks facing the Croatian Army. At the meeting, the challenges and needs of the Croatian Army were discussed, which should be met in order for the Army, the largest branch of the Croatian Armed Forces, to properly perform its tasks prescribed by the Constitution. It was emphasized that the Croatian Army is the bearer of the most important capabilities for the defense of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Croatia.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces and the Commander of the Croatian Army were accompanied at the meeting by the Commander of the Guards Armoured Mechanized Brigade Colonel Valentin Skroza, Commander of the Guards Mechanized Brigade Colonel Mirko Stošić, Deputy Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Colonel Dražen Batrnek, Commander of the Artillery-Rocket Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Davor Stefanović, Commander of the Engineering Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Miroslav Car, Commander of the Air Defense Regiment Colonel Alen Šimunić, Commander of the Signal Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Dragoslav Škaro and the Deputy Commander of the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense Battalion Major Jozo Brekalo.
The President of the Republic was accompanied by the Head of the Office of the President Orsat Miljenić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense Ivica Olujić and the Head of the Military Office Colonel Ivica Kranjčević.
