President Milanović Bestows Order of Ban Jelačić on 105 Croatian Army Brigade War Commander Retired Colonel Stjepan Ivanić
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović bestowed today the Order of Ban Jelačić on retired Colonel Stjepan Ivanić, war commander of the 105th Croatian Army Brigade.
“It’s an honour, even if it is with great delay, to present to you the decoration of the Republic of Croatia for your service to our country, our army and our freedom thirty years ago. Those are events that we must remember, cherish and not forget. Because, if we do, we will forget ourselves, who we are and where we come from, and then we won’t even know where we’re going. My deepest gratitude for what you did for Croatia”, President Milanović told retired Colonel Stjepan Ivanić as he presented him with the decoration for outstanding command of Croatian Armed Forces units and for extraordinary military service in their formation.
In thanking for the decoration, retired Colonel Ivanić reminded of the service and deployment of the 105th Croatian Army Brigade and its important role in Croatia’s defense.
Attending the ceremony in the Office of the President of the Republic were the president of the Association of the 105th Croatian Army Brigade Željko Paun, retired Croatian Army Major Mirko Antolić, the Special Adviser to the President for Homeland War Veterans Marijan Mareković and the Aide-de-Camp to the President of the Republic Colonel Vlado Čulina.
