President Milanović believes that Montenegro should join the European Union as soon as possible
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today in the Office of the President the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Filip Ivanović, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Croatia.
The main topic of the meeting was European integration and Montenegro’s prospects for joining the European Union. President Milanović reiterated that Montenegro can rely on the strong support of the Republic of Croatia on its EU path. He believes that Montenegro should join the EU as soon as possible, especially since it is a yearslong NATO Member and ally. The meeting also covered bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the security and political situation in Southeast Europe.
Accompanying Minister Ivanović at the meeting were Minister Plenipotentiary and Chargé d’Affaires of Montenegro in the Republic of Croatia Damir Grbović, Acting Director-General for Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Aleksandar Drljević, and Second Secretary of the Embassy of Montenegro in the Republic of Croatia Anđela Darmanović.
President Milanović was accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to Montenegro Veselko Grubišić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić, and the Adviser to the President of the Republic for National Security Dragan Lozančić.
