President Milanović Attends Special Session on Buje Municipal Day

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended this evening a special session of the Municipal Council of the Town of Buje on the occasion of Municipal Day where he delivered an address.

President Milanović noted in his speech the importance of the further development of the town, underlining that it is crucial that the budget continues to grow and that the funds be spent for the well-being of all its citizens – Croats, Italians and others. In that sense, he commended the coexistence and the harmony among the residents of Buje, and underlined: “Here, there is simply a healthy climate in the minds of people, which should be nurtured and initiated in other parts of the country that, unfortunately, need this type of immunization.”

President Milanović further evoked memories from his childhood, recalling his first visit to Buje, and expressed satisfaction with trans-border cooperation and good relations with friendly states. He pointed out that such relations can only be desired with some neighbouring countries in the east and south, and that a great deal of work is still needed.

President Milanović concluded his address by congratulating all the residents of Buje on Municipal Day, wishinbg them health, prosperity and further success in the future.

Speaking at the special session in addition to President Milanović were the president of the Municipal Council of Buje Franko Gergorić, the mayor of Buje Fabrizio Vižintin, the Deputy County-prefect of Istria County Jessica Acquavita and the State secretary in the Central Government Office for Central Government Procurement and delegate of the Prime Minister Ivan Bubić.

President Milanović was accompanied by the Adviser to the President for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Mulić.
