President Milanović Attends Presentation of the Book “Nesigurni” by Ivana Dragičević
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović, together with his spouse Professor Dr. Sanja Musić Milanović, attended the presentation of the book “Nesigurni” [Insecure], authored by Ivana Dragičević. The event was held at the Lauba House for People and Art.
“Nesigurni” is based on Ivana Dragičević’s debut novel “Nejednaki” [Unequal], and in both books, the author grapples with the pressing problems of today. In this work, she sheds light on the dilemmas that people have been facing for a long time, especially after the pandemic that changed the world as we know it. Ivana Dragičević’s work – what she calls a ‘self-help manual’ for humanity and humanism – is a collection of stories told from a personal perspective. These stories explore fundamental issues, ranging from the green economy, climate change, digital transition, wars, and migrations, to earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters. According to Ivana Dragičević, kindness and solidarity are essential for security.
Ivana Dragičević, a journalist, has been serving as an executive producer at N1 television since 2014. Following her studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, she embarked on her journalistic career at TV Mreža in 1996. From 1999 to 2014, she held various roles at the international desk of Croatian Television, working as a correspondent, editor, and host of the news magazine “Horizonti.”
Alongside the author, journalists Boštjan Videmšek and Irena Frlan Gašparović, as well as professors Antonija Petrčušić and Marijana Grbeša-Zenzerović, and photographer Marko Drobnjaković, also provided commentary on the book. “Nesigurni” was published by the Naklada Ljevak publishing house.
President Milanović was accompanied at the event by Jadranka Žarković, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education, and Velibor Mačkić, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy.
