President Milanović Attends Croatian Championship Rugby Match between Zagreb Rugby Club and Sinj Rugby Club

The President of the Republic attended the Croatian championship rugby match between Zagreb Rugby Club Zagreb and Sinj Rugby Club.

Prior to the match at the Rugby centre Rudeš, President Milanović met with the management and players of these two Croatian rugby clubs who acquainted him with the organization and structure of the clubs, the means of financing, training and the problems faced by the rugby clubs. The representatives of Zagreb Rugby Club told him that they rely partly on volunteer work and a strong community base. They underlined that what is needed for the further development of the club and of rugby in Croatia in general is greater support from the media and better coverage of this sport as well as a greater commitment by the umbrella federation and support from government bodies.

Attending the meeting with President Milanović were the president of the Zagreb Rugby Club and president of the Zagreb Rugby Federation Vlado Gržanić, the president of the Sinj Rugby Club Ivica Dinarina Šimić, the secretary-general of the Croatian Rugby Federation Većeslav Holjevac, Board member of the Zagreb Rugby Club Tvrtko Zelić and the secretary of the Zagreb Veterans Rugby Club Dubravko Gerovac.

Attending the Croatian championship rugby match between the Zagreb Rugby Club and the Sinj Rugby Club with President Milanović were the Head of the Cabinet of the President Bartol Šimunić, the Adviser to the President for Defense and National Security Dragan Lozančić and the Special Adviser to the President for the Economy Velibor Mačkić.
