President Milanović at Meeting with Highest Military Commanders, Need for Urgent Procurement of Military Equipment and Ordnance Confirmed
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović held today a regular annual meeting with the highest commanders and heads of organizational units of the Croatian Armed Forces.
At the meeting held in the Office of the President, the military commanders informed President Milanović on the situation in the Croatian Armed Forces at the end of the year, as well as on the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces that should be met in order for the military to be able to properly perform its tasks prescribed by the Constitution. In this regard, the need for urgent procurement of military equipment and ordnance was confirmed, because the situation in certain segments calls into question the defence capability of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces informed the military commanders that he had requested from the Croatian Government and expects it to take urgent action and make the necessary decisions in order to equip the military and procure the necessary ordnance. He also thanked the military commanders, as well as all members of the Croatian Armed Forces, for their dedicated service and the fulfilment of their obligations.
The following officials attended the meeting with President Milanović: Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Admiral Robert Hranj, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Siniša Jurković, Director of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Major General Ivica Olujić, Commander of the Croatian Army Lieutenant General Boris Šerić, Commander of the Croatian Navy Rear Admiral Ivo Raffaneli, Commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Brigadier General Michael Križanec, Deputy Commander of the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Croatian Defence Academy Brigadier General Blaž Beretin, Commander of the Special Operations Forces Command Colonel Ivan Miloš.
Accompanying the President of the Republic of Croatia were the Head of the Office of the President of the Republic Orsat Miljenić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defence and National Security Dragan Lozančić and Head of the Military Office in the Cabinet for Defence and National Security at the Office of the President of the Republic Rear Admiral Predrag Stipanović.
