President Milanović and Spouse Attend Premiere of “Moji tužni monstrumi“ in Gavella City Drama Theatre

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović and the spouse of the President Dr. Sanja Musić Milanović attended the premiere of “Moji tužni monstrumi“ (My Sad Monsters) on the main stage of the Gavella City Drama Theatre. It is the first premiere to be held in the newly renovated Gavella City Drama Theatre.

The drama “Moji tužni monstrumi” by Mate Matišić, directed by Vito Taufer, continues the narrative of “Ljudi od voska” (People of Wax), and questions the porosity of the boundary between reality and fiction, biography and performance, person and character. This performance, subtitled as a “dramatic diary”, features scenes in which theatricality and a kind of hyper-eventfulness are imaginatively combined with intimacy and documentation that do not shy away from exposing the intimate space”, but also present the social context, collective pains and injustices and “knots that we have not untangled”.

Taking centre stage in “Moji tužni monstrumi” is playwright and musician Mate, played by Živko Anočić, who deals with the so-called “recognizers of the truth”. Also starring in the drama: Antonija Stanišić Šperanda (Ana), Filip Šovagović (Fabijan, Stipe), Jelena Miholjević (Lidija, Slava, Milica), Sven Šestak (Ljuban, Milan), Franjo Dijak (Ivan, Stanislav), Ivica Pucar (Iko) and Mada Peršić (emigrant, translator).

Alongside President Milanović was the Special Adviser of the President for Culture Zdravko Zima.
