On the Occasion of International Women’s Day, President Milanović Tours Exhibition Dedicated to Dora Pejačević, the First Croatian Composer
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović extended congratulations to all the women in Croatia on International Women’s Day. On this occasion, he toured the exhibition entitled “Dora – Zapis na brezovoj kori” [Dora – Inscription on the Birch Bark] showcased at the Zagreb City Museum to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of the first Croatian composer Dora Pejačević.
Under the expert guidance of exhibition curator Marina Perica Krapljanov, President Milanović toured the exhibition featuring memorabilia that give an insight into the private life, professional life and opus of Dora Pejačević.
The exhibition “Dora – Zapis na brezovoj kori” at the Zagreb City Museum is the central feature of the five-day Dora Pejačević Festival organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Dora Pejačević, an early 20th century Croatian composer. The Dora Pejačević Festival is a dedication to the exceptional personality and creative character of the first internationally renowned Croatian composer countess Dora Pejačević, a cosmopolitan who was also influenced by philosophical works and was a great humanist.
President Milanović toured the exhibition in the company of Zagreb City Museum Director Aleksandra Berberih Slana and exhibition curator Marina Perica Krapljanov, as well as the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Mulić and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture Zdravko Zima.
