Easter Greetings from the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović

People around the world and in our Homeland have always associated the Easter holiday with hope of a new beginning and light that triumphs over darkness. The messages of the greatest Christian holiday for long have been accepted as not only the essence of faith but as worldly values. The belief that suffering will pass, that goodness will triumph and that life makes sense encourages each and every one of us.

Our contemporary society and the people that are part of it need a guidepost to Easter values, perhaps more today than ever before. The afflictions and suffering of the people of Ukraine, new threats of war and social instabilities throughout the world are a warning to all that peace, security and progress are understood too lightly, and collapse easily if there is no goodness in the human being, no solidarity among the people or no love for one’s neighbour.
