During his State Visit to Malta President Milanović also Meets with Prime Minister and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović, who is on a State visit to the Republic of Malta, held separate meetings with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Malta Anġlu Farrugia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Malta Robert Abela, and Opposition leader Bernard Grech.

As with his host the President of the Republic of Malta George Vella, President Milanović held discussions with highest Maltese officials on topics that are especially important to Croatia: Malta’s support for Croatia’s entry into the Schengen Area, Maltese experience with the introduction of the euro since Croatia will soon be a member of the euro area, and the rights of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On Tuesday, the second day of his State visit to the Republic of Malta, the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović and First Lady Sanja Musić Milanović visited St. John’s Co-cathedral in Valletta. President Milanović concluded his State visit with a traditional tree planting ceremony in San Anton palace gardens in Attard in the company of his host, Maltese President Vella.

The President of Malta invited President Milanović to attend the Arraiolos Group meeting, which will be held this coming October in Malta. The State visit of the President of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Malta followed the State visit of the President of the Republic of Malta George Vella to the Republic of Croatia in October of last year aimed at further strengthening friendly relations between the two states.
