Christmas Greetings of the President of the Republic to Orthodox Believers in the Republic of Croatia
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović extended Christmas greetings to Orthodox believers in the Republic of Croatia. The message reads:
“Merry Christmas to all Croatian citizens of the Orthodox faith who are celebrating the most joyous Christian holiday tomorrow. The celebration of Christmas is traditionally an occasion where the family shows care and love for their loved ones, therefore from the bottom of my heart I wish all those celebrating to spend this holiday in peace and joy of family gatherings.
The upcoming holiday is an opportunity for all of us as a community to show that we are a well-organised and tolerant society that will celebrate Christmas in sincere friendship and in a spirit of mutual understanding with our neighbours, friends and citizens of the Orthodox faith. All people who consider Croatia their home must feel the spirit of the Christmas message – solidarity and human kindness – every day and prticularly during holiday time.
In the hope that we will continue to build our Homeland more earnestly and readily as a society of equal rights and opportunities for all Croatian people, I wish Merry Christmas to all Orthodox believers with the traditional greeting – Peace of God, Christ is born!“
