Andrej Plenković has organized a HDZ partisan meeting with military leadership and has gone furthest in the unacceptable politicization of the Croatian Army

Andrej Plenković has also invited the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković to today’s meeting of the Prime Minister with the college of commanders of the Croatian Armed Forces in the Croatian Government building. What is the HDZ Speaker of Parliament, i.e. the legislative branch, doing at the meeting of the executive branch with the commanders of the Croatian military? Andrej Plenković says that this is a preparatory meeting for tomorrow’s Defense Council. Why was the Chair of the Parliamentary Defense Committee Franko Vidović, who is also a member of the Defense Council, not invited to the preparatory meeting?

Since he had already invited Jandroković, Plenković could then have invited all members of the HDZ Presidency for a conversation with the generals in order for the picture to be clear and complete. Because, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman and the Government Spokesperson Marko Milić were also present at the meeting… Today, Andrej Plenković has in fact organized a HDZ partisan meeting in the Government building with the military leadership and has gone furthest in the unacceptable politicization of the Croatian Army. Or, did Andrej Plenković organize today a parallel, partisan HDZ session of the Defense Council?

Let us emphasize the key difference: The President of the Republic invites exclusively his Adviser for Defense and National Security Dr. Dragan Lozančić to meetings with military commanders. The President of the Republic will meet this afternoon with the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces and military commanders. As always, only the President’s Adviser Dr. Lozančić will also be present at the meeting.
