President of the Republic Decorates Retired Croatian Army Generals, Croatian Defence Council Brigades and MUP HR HB Special Police Unit
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović presented decorations to the retired generals of the Croatian Army, the Croatian Defence Council brigades and a MUP Special Police unit of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia, which he previously decorated on Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Day of Croatian Defenders and the 25th Anniversary of the Military-Police Operation Storm. On that occasion, on 4 August 2020 in Knin, they received Certificates of Decoration and today they received the actual decorations.
The Grand Order of King Petar Krešimir IV with Sash and Star was presented by the President of the Republic to the following retired generals of the Croatian Armed Forces for their extraordinary contributions to the creation of war strategy and military doctrine, for their services in the establishment of the Armed Forces and for their outstanding successes in the leadership and command of units of the Croatian Armed Forces: Retired Lieutenant General Đuro Dečak, Retired Lieutenant General Marijan Mareković, Retired Major General Rahim Ademi, Retired Major General Luka Džanko, Retired Major General Vinko Vrbanac and Retired Brigadier General Ante Kotromanović, as well as to Mislav Crnjac, son of Retired Lieutenant General Miljenko Crnjac.
The Grand Order of King Petar Krešimir IV with Sash and Star was bestowed upon Retired Major General Nojko Marinović, Commander of the Defence of Dubrovnik in the Homeland War, who passed away eleven days ago. His family received the decoration in Dubrovnik.
The Order of Nikola Šubić Zrinski was presented by the President of the Republic to the following brigades for deeds of valour demonstrated by their members in the Homeland War: 1st HVO Guard Brigade Ante Bruno Bušić – Livno, 2nd HVO Guard Brigade – Mostar, 3rd HVO Guard Brigade Jastrebovi – Vitez, 4th HVO Guard Brigade Sinovi Posavine and the MUP HR HB Special Police unit. The following commanders of the decorated brigades were presented with the decorations: General Anton Luburić, General Stanko Sopta, General Ilija Nakić, General Mato Bilonjić and General Mijo Jelić.
