President Milanović Meets with Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia Representatives (SSSH)

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received in his Office a delegation of the Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) on the occasion of 30 years of the Union’s existence and its activities in fighting for workers’ rights and social justice. Participating at the meeting with the President of the Republic alongside SSSH head Mladen Novosel were Vice President for Cooperation with Trade Unions in the Economic Sector Željko Klaus and SSSH Executive Secretary for Social Dialogue and Public Policy Ana Miličević Pezelj.

The current economic and social situation in Croatia marked by the coronavirus pandemic was discussed at the meeting and SSSH representatives informed President Milanović of their activities aimed at protecting workers’ rights in the latest circumstances. They also presented their objections to the bailout measures for the economy during the coronavirus pandemic, calling for protection of domestic production and legal security of workers in this situation. They emphasized that all the measures must be implemented transparently in order to prevent any possible abuse of public money.
