President Milanović Meets with Wind Energy Entrepreneurs
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received representatives of the business community and entrepreneurs in wind energy on the occasion of Global Wind Day that is celebrated on 15th June to spread awareness about the advantages of wind energy and promote the use of wind energy as a clean and renewable energy source.
Wind energy entrepreneurs welcome plans to increase the share of renewables in total production as envisaged in the energy development strategy because Croatia has growth potential. That direction is good for environmental reasons and for reducing imports of classic energy sources, it was said at the meeting. At the same time they caution that it is important that the regulatory system is stable and sustainable, and are committed to switching to a market production model. As was noted at the meeting, they support the premium system as a temporary solution until the introduction of market relations without incentives.
Present at the meeting from the business community and entrepreneurs in wind energy were the CEO of RP Global Bojan Reščec, director of Končar – Renewable Energy Sources Ivo Čović, director of Adria Wind Power and owner of the first Croatian wind farm Tonći Panza, and member of the Board of Directors and director of WPD Adria Zoran Obradović.
