President Milanović on official visit to Brazil, on Monday he will meet with President Lula de Silva
At the invitation of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, alongside his spouse, Sanja Musić Milanović, will be paying an official visit to the Federative Republic of Brazil from June 3rd to June 6th. This is the first official visit by a Croatian President to Brazil since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992.
An official meeting and dialogue between President Milanović and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is scheduled for Monday in Brasília, where the Croatian President will also meet with the President of the National Congress of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Rodrigo Otavio Soares Pacheco. The main topic of discussion at these meetings will be bilateral relations between the two countries, with the aim of enhancing Croatian-Brazilian political and economic cooperation. To this end, President Milanović will also meet with a group of businesspeople gathered in the Croatian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, which was established last year specifically to improve economic relations between the two countries. During the meetings with the President of Brazil and the National Congress, views on current global and regional issues will also be exchanged.
During his stay in Brazil, President Milanović will also meet with the governors of the Brazilian states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as well as the mayors of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, he will meet with members of the Croatian community living in São Paulo. The Brazilians of Croatian descent, numbering around 80,000, have the potential to significantly contribute to the further development of relations between the two countries.
