President Milanović Meets with Representatives of City of Varaždin Administration
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović held a working meeting today in Varaždin with representatives from the city’s administrative bodies and toured the recently renovated Varaždin City Hall.
Last year, due to the energy-efficient renovation of the Varaždin City Hall, the offices of the city’s administrative bodies were temporarily relocated to the Patačić Palace. However, just last week, these offices were relocated back to the City Hall itself. The Varaždin City Hall stands as an iconic landmark in north-western Croatia and within the city of Varaždin. Erected in 1523 as a gift to the city by George of Brandenburg, to be utilized as a town hall, it has been one of the most distinct features of Varaždin ever since. Notably, it remains one of the oldest functioning city halls in Europe, maintaining its original purpose across the centuries.
After visiting the refurbished City Hall, President Milanović held a working meeting with Varaždin Mayor Neven Bosilj, Varaždin City Council President Lovro Lukavečki, and Deputy Mayor Miroslav Marković, who briefed the President on the city’s development strategy.
President Milanović was accompanied in Varaždin by Melita Mulić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society.
