President Milanović: I will announce my election date decision on Friday
“I made a decision on the date of the parliamentary election, I will let you know tomorrow when I return to Zagreb,” the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović said today on his official visit to Sali on the island of Dugi Otok.
The President explained why it is good that the election will be held: “This has been just under four years of thievery and dishonour. In the Wikipedia of political dishonour, Plenković and his clique have installed themselves with as much displacement tonnage as a tanker, so that all other scoundrels and deadbeats have been reduced to the level of footnotes. It was a bad time, a bad time that ended with a few violent gestures, the main one being the appointment of Turudić as the State Attorney General.”
Commenting further on the controversial appointment of the State Attorney General, the President of the Republic said that the Constitutional Court realized “it cannot go on like this,” given that no one from the Constitutional Court attended the swearing-in ceremony of Ivan Turudić. “They thereby declared Turudić as a person who is not worthy of this duty, a view shared by most judges. This is a man who is seriously compromised. That is finally coming to an end, since Parliament was dissolved after months and months of fiddling, lying and manipulation,” said President Milanović, convinced that all this was done so that the ruling majority would gain a better starting position ahead of the parliamentary election.
“Even today, with the dissolution of Parliament, a law dubbed ‘Lex AP’ was adopted. It is an attempt to discipline and settle the situation where there is civil disobedience and the awareness that some things, but not all, should be made public. Because, it would (otherwise) not be known who is stealing and lying. For Plenković, it is a life-threatening situation. He is the patron of thievery and corruption in Croatia, that is clear to every child,” President Milanović told the press.
