President Milanović Appoints Major General Tihomir Kundid Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović has appointed Major General Tihomir Kundid to the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces effective 1 March 2024. President Milanović appointed Major General Tihomir Kundid to the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces based on the proposal of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and after obtaining the opinion of the Defence Committee of the Croatian Parliament.
Before appointing him to the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, on the basis of his constitutional and legal powers, and on the proposal of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić, President Milanović on 29 February 2024 reached a Decision on the Extraordinary Promotion of Active Major General Tihomir Kundid to the rank of Lieutenant General Armour.
After appointing him Chief of the GS of the CAF, President Milanović held a working meeting with Lieutenant General Kundid in the Office of the President of the Republic. In attendance at the meeting were the former Chief of the GS of the CAF Admiral Robert Hranj, the highest officers of the GS of the CAF, the Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia Orsat Miljenić, the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defence Ivica Olujić, and the Head of the Military Office of the Cabinet for Defence and National Security of the Office of the President Brigadier General Ivica Kranjčević.
