President Milanović Attends Premiere of “Slatka Simona,” a New Film by Igor Mirković
Accompanied by his spouse, Prof. Sanja Musić Milanović, the President of the Republic, Zoran Milanović, attended the premiere of the film “Slatka Simona” [Sweet Simona]. The film was directed by Igor Mirković, and its premiere took place at the Kaptol Boutique Cinema in Zagreb.
The film examines interpersonal relationships in the virtual world and explores the pitfalls of the Internet. Its narrative revolves around connecting individuals who have never met, live in different countries, and are unaware of each other’s true identities, yet form emotionally rich relationships. All participants conceal their identities and deceive their loved ones, while in the virtual realm, they divulge their deepest and most intimate secrets to complete strangers. Produced by Ivan Maloča (Interfilm), the film features leading performances by Maja Jurić, Tina Keserović, Toma Medvešek, and Jerko Marčić.
“Slatka Simona” is the second feature film by Igor Mirković, who previously directed the acclaimed documentaries “Orbanići Unplugged” (1998), “Novo, Novo Vrijeme” (2001), and “Sretno Dijete” (2003). He made his debut as a feature film director with the award-winning romantic drama “Noćni Brodovi” (2012). Mirković is also recognized by the Croatian audience as the creative director of the Motovun Film Festival and as one of the directors and screenwriters of the TV series “Crno-Bijeli Svijet.”
The premiere was attended by many members of the film crew, led by the director and the acting ensemble. Additionally, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture, Zdravko Zima, accompanied President Milanović at the premiere.
