President Milanović Proposes Convening of National Security Council to the Prime Minister
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović proposed to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković that a session of the National Security Council be convened.
The letter he sent today to the Prime Minister contains the following: “Pursuant to Article 4 of the Act on the Security Intelligence System of the Republic of Croatia, I propose that we convene a session of the National Security Council due to the extraordinary and unexpected situation in the Croatian judicial system, which has had a negative impact – and could have a negative impact in the future – on the coordinated operation and stability of state authorities and the national security of the Republic of Croatia.”
President Milanović further reminds that “according to Article 4 of the Act on the Security Intelligence System of the Republic of Croatia, only you as the Prime Minister and I as the President of the Republic have the authority to arrange and convene a session of the National Security Council.” He concludes as follows: “Therefore, I expect that you too will recognize the need and accept my proposal for convening a session of the National Security Council as soon as possible.”
