President Milanović Pays Tribute to Homeland War Victims
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović participated today in a remembrance procession marking the 32nd anniversary of the suffering and occupation of the village of Saborsko in the Homeland War. He laid a wreath and lit a candle at the mass grave memorial for the killed and perished villagers of Saborsko.
The 12th of November commemorates the anniversary of one of the most serious crimes in the Homeland War, which occurred in Saborsko in 1991. On that day 38 villagers of Saborsko were killed and dumped into a common grave near the parish house. The oldest victim was 96 years old, and the youngest victim was burned alive. Twenty-six defenders perished while defending their village, and eight are missing in action.
Alongside President Milanović was the Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Homeland War Veterans.
