President Milanović Attends 14th World Cup Athletic Gymnastics Finals in Osijek

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended today the 14th World Cup Athletic Gymnastics finals, the DOBRO World Cup, held in the Gradski Vrt Sports Arena in Osijek. Croatian gymnast Tin Srbić won the bronze medal in the men’s horizontal bar, and Croatian gymnast Tina Zelčić won the bronze medal in the women’s balance beam event. Croatian gymnast Christina Zwicker also competed in the DOBRO World Cup finals.

The World Cup Athletic Gymnastics was held from 5 to 11 June in Osijek. Also attending the finals were the President of the International Gymnastics Federation and member of the International Olympic Committee Morinari Watanabe, the President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Mateša, COC Secretary-General Siniša Krajač, the State secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and delegate of the Prime Minister Josip Pavić, the delegate of the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Hrvoje Šimić, and officials of Osijek-Baranja County and the City of Osijek.

The first Artistic Gymnastics World Cup was held in 2009, heralding a history of successful organizations of World Cup official events in Croatia. Today the DOBRO World Cup is one of the most recognisable gymnastics events in this part of Europe and over the past ten years or so has brought together the best European and world gymnasts in Osijek.

Alongside President Milanović was the Commissioner of the President of the Republic for Sports Željko Jovanović.
