President Milanović visits Kupa River embankment near Petrinja, where Croatian Army members are engaged
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović visited today the flood-endangered area of the town of Petrinja and the embankment along the right bank of the Kupa River, where members of the Croatian Army are engaged. The river embankment, which was damaged during a recent earthquake, is now threatened by the high water level of the Kupa River. Since this morning, 70 members of the Croatian Army have been working to reinforce the embankment with sandbags.
President Milanović was briefed about the activities of the Croatian Army members and on developments in the flood-affected area by the Croatian Armed Forces Operations Command Deputy Commander Colonel Robert Suntešić, Head of the Civil Protection Directorate of the town of Petrinja Željko Tonković, Petrinja Fire Chief Zvonko Ljubičić and Sisak-Moslavina County Fire Chief Marijo Paluh.
