President Milanović with highest CAF military commanders: It is an imperative to equip the army and improve working conditions and training of Croatian soldiers

The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović held a meeting today with the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Admiral Robert Hranj and the highest commanders of Croatian Armed Forces units.

Attending the meeting with President Milanović together with the Chief of the General Staff of the CAF were the Deputy Chief of Staff of the CAF Lieutenant General Siniša Jurković, the Commander of the Croatian Army Lieutenant General Boris Šerić, the Commander of the Croatian Navy Rear Admiral Ivo Raffanelli, the Commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defense Brigadier General Michael Križanec, and the Commander of Support Command Lieutenant General Mladen Fuzul.

At the meeting held in the Office of the President of the Republic, the military commanders briefed President Milanović on the current readiness of the Croatian Armed Forces and on challenges and issues which the CAF face in carrying out their tasks.

In addition to the need to urgently reach a decision to equip the army and procure the imperative ordnance – something President Milanović has insisted on many times – the meeting also confirmed the necessity to solve issues in terms of human potentials, i.e. attracting and retaining personnel in the military service, and especially improving the standard of life, work and training of Croatian soldiers, including public servants and employees who work in the Armed Forces.

President Milanović thanked the military commanders as well as all CAF members on their dedicated service and execution of commitments put before them in the Republic of Croatia and abroad alike.

Alongside the President of the Republic at the meeting were the Head of the Office of the President of the Republic Orsat Miljenić, the Adviser to the President for Defense Ivica Olujić, and the Head of the Cabinet for Defense and National Security of the Office of the President of the Republic Read Admiral Predrag Stipanović.
