President Milanović Receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Mauro Vieira
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović today received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil Mauro Vieira, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Croatia.
The progress of bilateral cooperation between Croatia and Brazil, which is also reflected in the signing of two agreements in the fields of culture and education, was discussed at the meeting. Furthermore, the meeting topics included multilateral cooperation and relations between the European Union and countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Views were exchanged as well on the current security situation in Europe and the global consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine. Minister Vieira conveyed the invitation of the new Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for President Milanović to visit Brazil.
For extraordinary services in the development of good and friendly relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Federative Republic of Brazil, President Milanović decorated Minister Vieira with the Order of Duke Branimir with Ribbon. Before taking up the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs in January of this year, Mauro Vieira served as the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Croatia from 2020 until the end of 2022.
