President Milanović Receives Zagreb ZET Orchestra Marking 95 Years of Musical Activity
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today the members of one of the oldest city orchestras, the Zagreb ZET orchestra (Zagreb Electric Tram Public Transport Company), on the occasion of 95 years of musical activity.
The Zagreb ZET orchestra has operated without interruption from 1927 to the present, and a festive concert on the occasion of its 95th anniversary was held on 29 October 2022 under the auspices of the President of the Republic. The Orchestra is a promoter of music throughout Croatia and the world and is a recipient of the Croatian Cultural Association’s diamond diploma for outstanding contribution to the preservation of Croatian culture, and of the Medal of the City of Zagreb, as a Zagreb symbol lasting 95 years. In the scope of activities marking their important anniversary, they held a series of concerts throughout the year including the Vatican where they were received by Pope Francis. In the Office of the President of the Republic, the Zagreb ZET orchestra presented itself with a short music programme performing a number of well-known Zagreb compositions.
Alongside the President of the Republic were the Head of the Cabinet of the President Bartol Šimunić and the Special Adviser to the President Zdravko Zima.
