President Milanović Meets with Members of Law Students’ Association Ahead of Congress
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović met today at the Office of the President with members of the law students’ association Udruga Pravnik ahead of the 14th Law Student Congress, which is being held in Zagreb on 12-14 October under the auspices of the President of the Republic.
The law students’ association Udruga Pravnik of the Faculty of Law has been active at the University of Zagreb since 1967. It has strongly contributed to the academic life of the Faculty of Law and the University of Zagreb, with one of the most important projects of the association being the Law Student Congress, where a particular legal topic is discussed in an interdisciplinary manner within the course of a few days. The Congress is above all intended for law students, both from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb and from other law faculties in the country. Apart from law students, students from other constituent units of the University of Zagreb, as well as law students from law faculties in neighbouring countries participate in the Law Student Congress, it was said at the meeting.
Speaking about the topics that will be discussed at this year’s 14th Law Student Congress, the representatives of the association mentioned the constitutionality of the EU in terms of the theory of European integration, green transition and EU energy policy, the long-term vision of EU progress in terms of the climate neutrality plan and European immigration and migration policies. The Law Student Congress is the recipient of the Rector’s Award, the Dean’s Award and the Special Award of the Rector of the University of Zagreb.
The delegation of the law students’ association Udruga Pravnik was composed of its President Mihaela Slunjski and student members Iva Župetić, Ivana Kunić, Lana Pavešić, Dragutin Curk, Nikola Ljubanović, Sara Plentaj, Petra Gverović, Leoni Miklečić, Julija Rebernak, Mila Škarica, Josipa Sudar, Stela Margetić, Nikolina Đaković and Petra Poje.
Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education Jadranka Žarković and Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić were alongside President Milanović.
