President Milanović Meets with Minister Krivokapić, Confirms Croatia’s Support for Montenegro’s EU Path

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today in the Office of the President the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Ranko Krivokapić, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Croatia.

In his conversation with Minister Krivokapić, President Milanović reaffirmed the Republic of Croatia’s strong support for a modern and open Montenegro, and his support for Montenegro’s path towards membership in the European Union.

He reminded that Montenegro has come a long way in EU membership negotiations, having opened the last negotiation chapter, also thanks to Croatia’s advocacy. President Milanović believes that the Montenegro-EU negotiations cannot be hostage to the relations in the region nor made conditional on other candidates’ negotiation processes because Montenegro has clearly shown its commitment to both NATO and EU membership.
