“Climate Collage” Presented in the Office of the President of the Republic on the Occasion of Education for Climate Action Day

On the occasion of Education for Climate Action Day, the innovative interactive game “Climate Collage” was presented in the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia. The purpose of this educational tool is to explain in an amusing way to the general public and professionals alike what the climate is and how it acts.

This educational game is intended for all age groups, it provides a comprehensive overview of the causes and consequences of climate change, and teaches at the same time how to respond effectively. To this day the “Climate Collage” has been played in more than 50 countries with the participation of 250,000 people.

Participating in the presentation of the “Climate Collage” were teachers from the Gymnasium Pula, the Agricultural School Zagreb, Secondary School “Ivan Švear” Ivanić Grad, Technical School Velika Gorica, Secondary School Zlatar, First Gymnasium Zagreb, Classical Gymnasium Zagreb and the School of Natural Sciences Vladimir Prelog Zagreb.

National Coordinator for the “Climate Collage” Ivana Kordić, the representative of the “Scientists for the Climate” initiative Dubravka Vitali Čepo, the representative of the Association Tatavaka Maja Flajsig, and National Coordinator for “Climate Collage” Albatross Revolution Ana Elizabeta Robb presented the “Climate Collage” educational game to the teachers, which can be of assistance to them in the classroom.

President Milanović said that he continuously tries to underline the problem of climate change within his powers. Although it is a global issue, President Milanović feels that Croatia, even being a small country, can contribute to protect the climate. He noted that it is important for Croatia since it is dependent on tourism, and tourism is not viable without a clean environment.

Addressing the teachers and guests at the start of the presentation besides President Milanović were the Special Adviser to the President for Energy and Climate Julije Domac, attaché for Administrative and European Cooperation of the Embassy of France in Croatia Mia Matković, and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland H. E. Simon Derek Thomas.
